Senior Reliability & Instrumentation Field Technologist
Do you thrive on tough diagnostics, precision calibration, and the satisfaction of bringing complex systems back to peak performance? Are you comfortable splitting time between a well-equipped shop and demanding customer sites—sometimes for weeks at a stretch—across the Southwest and Pacific?
Your mission
Own the reliability of process instrumentation and valve automation for critical facilities. Lead challenging field assignments, mentor customers, and raise the bar for safety and quality.
Key responsibilities
- Install, retrofit, and repair pressure, temperature, and differential transmitters and related process instrumentation in the field and in-shop.
- Calibrate level, pressure, and temperature transmitters with accuracy and traceability.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with process control equipment: MOVs, field instruments, and final control devices.
- Perform MOV diagnostics; gather field measurements; and design actuator mounting hardware.
- Create brackets and couplings for valve/actuator integration across electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Champion customer success—promote service contracts, conduct training, and collaborate to eliminate recurring problems.
What you’ll need to excel
- At least 5 years of field service or instrumentation technician experience (power plant background strongly preferred) or comparable electro-mechanical expertise.
- Advanced calibration capability for level/pressure/temperature devices.
- Solid grounding in process controls and instrumentation.
- Electrical proficiency: read single/three-phase AC/DC schematics and troubleshoot methodically.
- Hands-on familiarity with electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic actuators.
- Current driver’s license with a top-tier driving record.
Life in the role
- Based in Chandler, AZ; regular travel (approximately 75%) throughout AZ, CA, HI, and NV.
- Expect multi-week deployments away from home during active field projects.
- Schedule typically runs Mon–Fri, 8–10 hours/day plus travel; 5–10 hours of weekly OT; variable start/stop times.
- Work conditions span indoor/outdoor, high-noise areas, and temperature extremes; tasks include confined space entry, work at heights, and lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 50 lbs.
Compensation and mobility
Target hourly rate: $35.00–$40.00. Final base pay reflects internal equity and may differ by geography, skills, credentials, experience, and position requirements. Company truck provided. Relocation support may be offered for exceptional candidates.
