Manufacturing Operations Research Engineer (Aerospace)

Your mission

Are you energized by untangling complex precedence networks and turning constraints into schedules that work? Join Chipton-Ross in San Antonio, TX to support an Executive Fleet program where your industrial engineering and analytics mindset will drive tangible improvements in cost, quality, and schedule—onsite, over a 12+ month contract.

What you will do

  • Transform production intent into executable plans—design precedence networks linked to milestones and adjust them as reality changes.
  • Build weekly/biweekly operating and recovery plans using constraint-based scheduling and crew cycling to protect the critical path.
  • Run capacity and constraint analyses; lead process effectiveness studies that remove waste and elevate throughput.
  • Deliver monthly support to “barge” activities: schedule development/analysis, OPE deep dives, data analytics, alternate job routing, critical-chain visibility, and chit board updates.
  • Apply models, simulations, and statistical methods to optimize flow and resource utilization across facilities, personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Plan work, analyze historical trends and production impacts, and recommend staffing and process improvements across a multi-functional team.

Are you a fit?

  • U.S. citizen able to obtain a security clearance.
  • 2–5 years in project planning/scheduling/project management.
  • 2–5 years as an Industrial or Production Engineer within a factory environment.
  • Comfort with manufacturing operations and planning, interpreting engineering drawings/specifications, and practicing lean (certifications preferred).
  • Fluency with one or more: Python, SAS, VBA, SQL.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

Bonus points

  • Experience with Aurora and IVT/Redars.
  • Background in production analytics or Operations Research.

The environment

  • Non-managerial, non-lead role embedded in a fast-paced, high-pressure program.
  • Successful completion of required training (OJT or classroom) is a condition of assignment.
