Since 1919, American Art Clay Company (AMACO) has pioneered clay bodies, lead-free glazes, electric kilns, and Brent potter’s wheels. As a fourth-generation, family-owned company, we believe making art enriches lives and communities. On our manufacturing floor, innovation and continuous improvement are part of everyone’s day—from the factory floor to the executive offices.
Step into a day where you’ll inspect materials, interpret blueprints, and build the mechanical and electrical subassemblies that power our AMACO/Brent product lines. You’ll label, package, and verify quality with precision—often lifting up to 50+ pounds—while occasionally mentoring teammates on processes you’ve mastered. You’ll report to the Mechanical Division Supervisor and may receive assignments from department leader(s) or designated personnel.
Classification:
Hourly, Non-Exempt
**Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities. **
You’ll work primarily on the manufacturing floor with on-the-job training. Expect occasional hot conditions and extended periods of standing. Regularly talk/hear; frequently stand, walk, use hands, and reach. At times you may sit, climb/balance, or stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl. Frequent lifting/moving of 50+ pounds is required. Vision needs include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Our culture prizes safety, quality, customer care, teamwork, respect, and continuous learning. We empower everyone to improve their role and processes.
This description outlines the role’s core scope but isn’t exhaustive; responsibilities may shift at any time with or without notice.
