Based in: Oakleys Dr, Richmond, VA | Team: Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division

Comp & Shift: Earn $22.71/hour plus a $2.00/hour shift premium on a 10:00 PM–6:30 AM schedule. Sign-on bonus: $2,000 for eligible hires.

Help us make what matters work. You’ll be the quality voice on the floor overnight, ensuring our power equipment meets rigorous internal and customer standards. Imagine kicking off your shift with First Article Inspections, then diving into control/process audits, isolating non-conformances, and turning insights into clear Quality Alerts that operators can act on immediately. When new equipment or processes launch, you’ll contribute to capability studies, update quality assembly documentation, and participate in reviews and training so production teams are set up for success.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect components and products; document results and quarantine Non-Conforming (NC) items
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations
  • Verify First Article Inspections (FAI) for all lines
  • Execute control and process audits per plan
  • Prepare inspection/audit reporting in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Issue Quality Alerts; brief operators on issues and containment actions
  • Investigate NC product using structured problem-solving
  • Drive pre-production quality planning, including Quality Assembly documentation, product/process reviews, and technical training support
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering on machine capability studies (new and existing)
  • Maintain and support the Gage Calibration System

What you’ll need to succeed

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • Consideration limited to candidates within a 50-mile radius; no relocation provided. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographic requirement.

Preferred

  • Skill in reading drawings and electrical schematics
  • Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or related discipline
  • ASQ Quality Technician certification
  • 3–5 years’ experience as a Quality Technician (ideally in power)
  • Lean and Six Sigma exposure
  • SPC knowledge and application
  • Familiarity with delta–wye 3-phase transformers and resistive load bank technology

Work environment & process

  • Regularly sit, stand, and walk; lift up to 50 lbs during the shift
  • May need to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push, and pull
  • Selection process can include video and in-person interviews; candidates are assessed on job-related competencies and data handled per applicable laws
