Our entry-level Utility professionals keep steel production moving across multiple operating units. Apply once to be considered for opportunities at Clairton Works, Irvin Works, and Edgar Thomson Works in the Mon Valley.
What You’ll Do
- Support production and service areas using: hand tools, pneumatic tools, gauges, oxygen lances, power-actuated tools, and cutting torches.
- Move, stage, and process materials and finished products.
- Assist with equipment inspections and routine maintenance activities.
- Operate in a heavy industrial setting; conditions can be hot, cold, wet, greasy, dirty, and noisy.
- Work safely around hot, heavy, and sharp materials—and at times near molten metal.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting in excess of 25 lbs.
- Progress, after on-the-job training, to operating cranes, tractors, trucks, dozers, loaders, boom trucks, feeders, and other mobile equipment.
What It Takes
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts (including weekends/holidays) and overtime as required.
- Uncompromising commitment to safety procedures. PPE includes hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, metatarsal boots, and a respirator when needed.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and self-direction.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment digital assessment.
