What You’ll Do

  • Set up and standardize X-ray equipment; process parts and films consistently.
  • Evaluate radiographic results for acceptance/rejection and document findings thoroughly.
  • Conduct system performance checks and equipment calibrations in line with process standards and customer requirements.
  • Draft detailed work instructions from approved procedures (finalized by X-ray Level III).
  • Apply strong knowledge of radiographic method scope, limitations, applicable codes/standards, and contractual documents.
  • Communicate effectively with management; present technical information and respond to inquiries.
  • Use practical math (proportions, percentages, area, circumference; basic algebra and geometry) in daily tasks.
  • Solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret diverse instruction formats.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years as a certified Level II film radiography inspector.
  • Current or prior Level II X-ray film certification compliant with ASNT SNT-TC-1A or AIA/NAS-410.
  • Ability to pass Howmet’s certification exams with a composite score of 80% or higher (renewable every five years); documentation required.
  • Leadership mindset with the ability to guide Level I personnel and trainees.
