CNC Manufacturing Programmer – Multi‑Axis Lathes & Mills

Location: Oakland County, MI

A day in this role

By mid‑afternoon you’re reviewing a new aerospace component drawing, translating tight tolerances into efficient toolpaths in Mastercam or Tebis. Before 4 PM, you’ve set up a mill/turn cell, dialed in tooling and offsets, and run first‑article parts on Fanuc- or Mazak‑controlled equipment. Throughout the shift, you inspect critical features, refine programs, and keep production flowing—always balancing speed, precision, and safety.

What you will do

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes for high‑precision parts
  • Create, refine, and optimize CAM programs (Mastercam, Tebis)
  • Perform complete setups, including tool selection, fixturing, and offsetting
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Hold tight tolerances and adhere to stringent quality requirements
  • Inspect finished components and adjust processes as needed

What you bring

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience
  • 2+ years of CNC programming experience
  • Proficiency with Fanuc and/or Mazak controls
  • Strong setup, troubleshooting, and print‑reading capability
  • Self‑directed, comfortable in a fast‑paced production environment

Compensation & benefits

  • $30–$40 per hour, commensurate with experience
  • Flexible schedules (8–10 hour blocks); second shift begins at 3:00 PM
