Production Press Reliability Technician (Journeyperson)

Your Mission

Maximize uptime and quality by keeping production presses and related equipment safe, reliable, and in-tolerance.

Key Outcomes

  • Zero-compromise safety while servicing equipment on the floor and in the tool room.
  • Rapid fault isolation using prints and a meter; fast, permanent fixes—not just workarounds.
  • Accurate, timely entries in Plex for downtime and work orders.
  • Stronger PM plans and procedures that lift efficiency and product quality.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, maintain, and repair production machinery and tools per established procedures; contribute improvements to those procedures.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues at an advanced level; perform basic electrical diagnostics.
  • Apply deep knowledge of press operations and lubrication systems to prevent repeat failures.
  • Evaluate bearing/motor life and lubrication health; correct over/under-lubrication.
  • Repair/replace press mechanical components, collaborating with a Level III mechanic when appropriate.
  • Use shop and lifting equipment safely (hand/surface grinders, wheel puller, torches, pipe threader, hydraulic jack, welders, scissor/boom lifts, lathe, forklift, milling machine, drill presses) and basic rigging.
  • Coach Level I Press Maintenance Mechanics to elevate team capability.
  • Execute and refine preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Manage downtime codes and work orders in Plex to ensure traceability and continuous improvement.

Schedule & Site

1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Monday–Friday at our Cusseta, AL plant.
Flexibility for occasional early, late, or weekend work to meet customer deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • English proficiency to safely and effectively follow work instructions and communications.
  • 5+ years of machine repair experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of machine repair experience.
  • Robotics training and press-specific training.
  • Journeyman card or completion of a Machine Repair Journeyman Apprenticeship (or equivalent education/contact hours).
