Automotive Tier-1 Supply Planner — QAD/EDI 830

Are you the planner who keeps production moving?

Do you thrive on translating EDI 830 signals into precise supplier schedules, tuning MRP, and protecting inventory health in a fast-paced Tier 1 automotive environment? If yes, read on.

Your mandate

  • Plan & Procure: Release and manage purchase orders so materials align with manufacturing schedules and customer demand.
  • Data & MRP Integrity: Own QAD master data (Item Master, Supplier Schedules, EDI 830, CUMs). Hunt down EDI, BOM, or part setup issues undermining MRP accuracy—and fix them.
  • Supplier Performance: Track delivery adherence and expedited freight; escalate chronic risks to SCM Commodity Managers.
  • Inventory Stewardship: Run cycle counts, support monthly Physical Inventory, implement FIFO, adjust levels for demand shifts, protect safety stock, and reduce EOP obsolescence.
  • Forecasting: Provide short- and long-range forecasts to suppliers; model long-lead raw glass and vinyl requirements and manage campaign-driven usage.
  • Compliance & Handling: Safeguard hazardous and temperature-sensitive materials and monitor shelf life.
  • Logistics & Finance: Schedule returnable packaging shipments; clear invoice/receipt discrepancies with Finance and suppliers.
  • Launch Readiness: Coordinate prototype orders for new parts to support SOP.
