Mill Manual Machinist

We are seeking an experienced Manual Mill Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position requires a skilled machinist who can independently set up and operate manual milling machines while working on a variety of different parts throughout the day. The parts are not highly complex, but the ability to perform setups without supervision is essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual milling machines including Lagoon Vertical Mills, Bridgeport Mills, and manual/engine lathes
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and shop drawings
• Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring tools
• Perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot machining issues as needed
• Maintain close tolerances and quality standards
• Deburr and finish machined parts as required
• Complete multiple setups throughout the day on different parts and jobs

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating manual milling machines required
• Experience with both manual mills and manual/engine lathes preferred
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Experience using precision measuring instruments
• Ability to hold close tolerances consistently
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment

Candidates with a couple years of hands-on manual machining and setup experience are encouraged to apply.
