What Your Day Looks Like
- Start with a quick huddle to align goals, clarify priorities, and recognize wins—keeping everyone focused on outcomes.
- Review KPIs against departmental objectives, then adjust the plan to stay on track.
- Walk production lines, validate product performance, and ensure our quality management system is being followed and continuously improved.
- Tackle customer feedback: lead root-cause analysis, drive corrective and preventive actions, and close the loop efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Analyze supplier scorecards, identify causes of rating shifts, and communicate actions that lift performance and lower risk.
- Manage the quality budget, balancing investments in tools, methods, and training with operational needs.
- Partner with senior leadership to minimize complaints and assure suppliers deliver high-quality product at competitive cost.
Your Impact
You’ll elevate our quality assurance system and quality management system by introducing better tools, methods, and processes—supporting compliance with external certifications such as ISO and CCC. You’ll strengthen decision-making with data from internal production, customer input, and market results, turning insights into measurable improvements.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 8+ years of quality control experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years in a supervisory/leadership capacity.
- Expertise with quality tools, techniques, and processes; familiarity with ASQ principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Sharp analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Clear, confident communicator—written and verbal.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Split schedule: approximately 5 hours per day in an office setting and about 3 hours per day in manufacturing/production areas.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Occasional overnight travel for training, audits, or support at other sites.
- Flexibility to work unplanned overtime to meet customer requirements.
Hazards & Exposure
- Regular interaction with moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to chemicals, noise, and heat; moderate noise levels—hearing protection required in designated areas.
