Precision Spot Welding Specialist (Fabrication)

  • Denton, TX
  • 22 - 22 USD Hourly

Are you wired for precision, safety, and impact?

Do you see a blueprint as a promise—and a challenge? At CECO Environmental, our mission since 1966 has been to protect people, the environment, and critical industrial assets. Within CECO, Peerless Separation & Filtration advances specialized water solutions that keep essential industries running responsibly. If you’re driven to perfect every weld and leave processes better than you found them, we want to meet you.

The challenge

Picture this: a priority order drops for dryer panel vane units. You confirm the materials, program the welder to qualified procedures, dial in stops and guides, choose the right tip size, and lock the workpiece in place. You run the operation, swap in the correct dies/stamps/jigs, then validate your work—measuring pocket gaps, checking variances, and performing shear tests. Something’s off? You escalate early, protect quality, and keep production on track while maintaining a spotless safety record.

Your mission

  • Master training—initial onboarding plus ongoing development in work functions and lean methods.
  • Meet company thresholds for Engineering Documentation compliance.
  • Interpret fabrication drawings and work orders; stage materials; configure equipment.
  • Program machines per qualified procedures; set precise stops/guides.
  • Secure workpieces; design/select the correct tip size to meet weld tolerances.
  • Change out dies, stamps, and jigs per blueprint/work order specs.
  • Execute spot weld operations and perform routine maintenance.
  • Verify results with measurement/inspection, focusing on pocket gaps and variances; conduct shear testing to confirm weld quality.
  • Report any substandard materials, documentation, or parts; champion uncompromising quality.
  • Live safety: follow OSHA/company policies, wear PPE (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots), and keep the area clean and orderly.
  • Own your schedule: track critical information, timelines, and deadlines; submit accurate daily reporting and clear communications.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and all relevant legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute beyond the job description as needed.
