Precision Toolroom Machinist – Die Repair

Is this you?
Do you instinctively reach for a dial indicator when a die won’t hold clearance?
Can you move from root-cause analysis to a clean, documented fix without skipping a step?
Are you comfortable heat-treating, hand-fitting, and validating assemblies before first shot?
What you will do
Diagnose and repair complex Tool and Die failures with speed and precision.
Author setup, PM, and troubleshooting procedures that others can easily follow.
Perform heat treatment on tools and parts and validate results.
Measure, mark, and scribe metal for machining and rework tasks.
Hand-finish flat and contoured surfaces with scrapers, stones, and power grinders; assemble parts and mechanisms using hand tools.
Confirm dimensions, alignments, and clearances using micrometers, thickness gauges, gauge blocks, and dial indicators.
What you bring
Post-secondary technical education or certification preferred.
7+ years of Tool and Die experience.
5+ years applying measurement processes and understanding equipment capability to restore complex die sets.
2+ years with electronic drawings in AutoCAD, Pro-E, or SolidWorks; able to modify existing prints.
2+ years performing heat-treat operations on tooling components.
Proven ability in failure analysis, reliability study execution, and performance optimization.
Fluent in reading quality reports and applying test methods.

Physical realities of the job
Regular standing, walking, reaching, and fine motor work with hands/fingers.
Climbing and balancing (ladders/lifts) and mobility in confined spaces (stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl).

Occasional lifting and moving of items over 50 lbs.
Consistent need for close and color vision.
Occasional exposure to outdoor weather and electrical hazards.
Factory environment: very loud at times; potential contact with hazardous materials and slick/greasy floors.
