Electromechanical Quality Inspector — I&C Production

About the role

Picture your day in Warrendale, PA: you arrive on the manufacturing floor and open the latest engineering work orders. You study drawings and specifications, map out inspection requirements, and get to work examining intricate mechanical and electrical components. Throughout the day, you scrutinize vendor test data for accuracy, perform receipt inspections against purchase orders, and document any defects you uncover. You’ll keep everything aligned with established Westinghouse Quality procedures while partnering closely with production and supply chain teams.

You will report to the Quality Control Supervisor, Global I&C Production & IV&V, and play a key role in ensuring only conforming parts and assemblies move forward.

What you’ll do

• Interpret engineering work orders; review inspection procedures, drawings, and specifications to determine requirements for mechanical and electrical components.
• Adhere to Westinghouse Quality procedures in all inspection activities.
• Validate the accuracy of vendor-supplied test data.
• Inspect mechanical and electrical components/assemblies and identify defects.
• Complete receipt inspections by reviewing and verifying purchase orders.

What you bring

• Associate's degree in a technical curriculum. Recognized technical programs may substitute for formal education (e.g., Naval Nuclear or other military program).
• Ability to meet qualification requirements of Westinghouse Level 2 procedure WEC 2.9 and achieve Level 1.
• Certification within the initial 6 months of employment to meet the requirements of NRC 1.58 Regulatory Guide and ANSI/ASME 45.2.6.
• Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems to manage work orders, material movement, or inspection records.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including mechanical/electrical schematics, bills of materials, and technical specifications.
• Current or previous IPC certifications (IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑WHMA‑A‑620, or IPC‑A‑600) supporting electronic assembly inspection and workmanship standards.

Compensation

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $41,069.47 - $94,253,36 per year.
