Job Summary:Under the direction of the Metallurgical Engineering Manager, theInvestment Technicianwill play a critical role in the production of high-quality castings using advanced investment casting techniques. This position involves monitoring dipping of ceramic molds, dewaxing and pouring molds, and performing post-casting finishing and inspections. The technician ensures that all casting processes meet strict quality and safety standards.
Essential Duties:
Shell Building
- Monitor robotic dipping process and make viscosity adjustments as needed.
- Should have or willing to learn basic robot functions to keep cell moving.
Dewaxing
- Handle completed shell molds from dip cell and operate boilerclave to remove wax from ceramic molds safely and efficiently.
- Patch molds as needed for quality purposes.
Melt Mold Handling & Pouring
- Load dewaxed shells into burnout oven and assist with unloading shells for pouring. Handle and pour molten metal into fired molds, ensuring precision and safety.
Post-Casting Processing
- Perform part removal process and cleaning of castings for inspection
Safety Compliance/Other
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE when handling hot materials and chemicals.
- Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in a foundry or metal casting environment, preferably in investment casting.
- Familiarity with ceramic mold preparation, wax pattern handling, and molten metal operations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in high-temperature environments.
- Strong focus on quality and precision in all aspects of the casting process.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
