Ready to raise the bar on safety and sustainability?
If you thrive on solving complex risk challenges and building systems that scale, this role is your arena. As our EHS Compliance and Risk Manager, you’ll architect and run the EHS management system for a fast‑paced polymer processing environment—driving compliance, preventing harm, and supporting uninterrupted production.
Your mission
Design, deploy, and continually enhance a sitewide EHS program that achieves world‑class performance and ISO 14001/ISO 45001 certification (or equivalent), while advancing sustainability across energy, water, and waste.
How you’ll make an impact
- Compliance leadership: Navigate OSHA, EPA, and state/local rules with confidence—air permits, storm water, hazardous waste, SPCC, EPCRA Tier II & Form R, and wastewater.
- Risk controls for plastics operations: Execute JHAs and PHAs; strengthen controls for machine guarding, LOTO, confined space, hot work, ergonomics, and chemical handling across injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, robotics, and auxiliary processes.
- Audit and assurance: Conduct routine audits to verify performance against regulations, policies, and contracts; serve as the primary contact for inspectors and insurers.
- Serious about learning: Lead investigations using root‑cause tools; close gaps with corrective and preventive actions that endure.
- Prepared people: Build and deliver training—new hire orientation, LOTO, forklift, crane, hazardous materials, emergency response, and contractor programs.
- Data‑driven results: Maintain OSHA 300 logs; track leading/lagging indicators; drive continuous reductions in TRIR and DART.
- Health protection: Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring for noise, dust, and fumes; manage workers’ compensation and return‑to‑work programs.
- Engagement engine: Chair the Safety Committee; champion behavioral‑based safety, safety talks, and near‑miss reporting.
Facilities and infrastructure
- Supervise 1 EHS/Facilities Coordinator and guide priorities and development.
- Oversee third‑party partners for utilities, building and grounds; manage contracts for waste removal, pest control, security, janitorial, landscaping, and fire systems.
- Validate new equipment, machines, and workstations to company and regulatory standards; ensure building and fire code compliance and insurance readiness.
- Stand up preventive and predictive maintenance with contractors for building repairs, alarm/fire, and HVAC systems.
- Control spend while unlocking cost savings across energy, water, and waste.
