Food-Grade Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control Manager

  • Reno, NV
  • 80,000 - 100,000 USD Annually

About the Role

Picture the day starting at the dock. The first carrier arrives, staging lanes are set, and inventory snapshots are ready. You scan the floor layout, align your team, and move from production meeting to shipment forecast with ease. As the Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control Manager for a food-grade environment, you own the flow: from inbound raw materials to outbound finished goods, and everything in between.

What You’ll Lead

  • Orchestrate all inbound and outbound moves—including common-carrier pickups, transfers, and waste bale logistics.
  • Direct warehouse personnel so work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Shape warehouse organization and participate in production meetings to keep plans aligned.
  • Recruit, train, coach, evaluate, and hold team members accountable for results; administer corrective and disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Create, document, and maintain department SOPs to standardize work.
  • Manage tow motor/forklift maintenance and repairs to keep equipment reliable.
  • Align daily practices with Quality programs and food-safety standards (HACCP, ASI).
  • Build and track performance metrics that reveal warehouse effectiveness.
  • Enforce corporate and plant safety and compliance rules for your team.
  • Ensure a safe environment by reinforcing PPE use (steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair/beard nets, and more).
  • Keep assigned areas staged, clean, and organized as inventory arrives.
  • Ensure every team member follows applicable food-safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving for finished goods, raw materials, and miscellaneous items.
  • Serve as the warehouse leader to meet company goals and objectives.
  • Forecast shipping volume and warehouse activity accurately to plan labor and space.
  • Partner with Finished Goods and Roll Stock cycle counts to maintain tight inventory control.
  • Protect inventory integrity—raw, WIP, and finished goods—through counts, weekly zone audits, and fast issue resolution.

How You’ll Make an Impact

By staging the floor effectively, implementing procedures, and supervising shipping/receiving teams, you’ll turn plans into predictable performance. Your oversight of safety, compliance, and inventory accuracy will keep the operation running smoothly—and ready for the next truck at the dock.
