Grid-Scale Battery Systems Program Manager, HV/LV Integration

Grid-Scale Battery Systems Program Manager, HV/LV Integration

Location: Berkeley, CA

Work Model: Hybrid

A Day in the Role

It’s 9:00 a.m. in Berkeley. You kick off with a cross-functional sync—systems architecture is finalizing interface specs, while mechanical and electrical teams prep for a design review. By mid-morning, you refine a Smartsheet Gantt plan to reconcile bottom-up engineering tasks with top-down program gates. After lunch, you drive a Jira triage to unblock an HV component validation issue and coordinate an ECO to keep the BOM aligned with the latest prototype. You close the day by summarizing KPIs and milestone health for engineering leadership—schedule fidelity, cost-down progress, component maturity—and flag a risk with supplier lead times, along with your mitigation plan.

Impact You’ll Own

  • Guide HV/LV electromechanical system development end-to-end—from requirements and reviews through prototyping, validation, ramp, and mass production.
  • Build and continuously update integrated schedules, mapping engineering deliverables to program milestones and interdependencies.
  • Enable execution across mechanical, electrical, test, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain; identify risks and drive resolution.
  • Lead cost-reduction and quality-improvement initiatives; manage component maturity plans throughout the lifecycle.
  • Anticipate and remove roadblocks; course-correct quickly as priorities shift or technical challenges emerge.
  • Develop and present KPIs, readouts, and executive updates to keep leadership aligned and informed.
  • Own component-level timelines and align bottom-up activities with top-down objectives.
  • Maintain accountability via Jira—ensuring action items, issues, and mitigations are tracked to closure.
  • Orchestrate product releases: engineering changes (ECR/ECO), component readiness, and BOM integrity.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years in technical program management or adjacent roles within high-voltage batteries, electric vehicles, powertrain, energy storage, robotics, or similar hardware.
  • End-to-end product development experience—from design and validation through manufacturing ramp and volume build.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional schedules, dependencies, and critical-path execution.
  • Working knowledge of multilevel BOMs, mechanical/electrical structures, and component dependencies.
  • Hands-on familiarity with product release processes, engineering change management, and part/BOM revisions.
  • Comfort with Smartsheet (or similar Gantt tools) and Jira (or comparable issue tracking).
