CNC Lathe Machinist

We are hiring an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for a climate-controlled Houston machine shop.

The shop primarily operates Doosan and Mori Seiki CNC lathes and is looking for a machinist with strong setup and operating experience. Experience machining exotic or difficult-to-machine metals, including Inconel, is highly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and operate CNC lathes (Doosan and Mori Seiki CNC lathes)
• Operate and edit CNC machines using Fanuc controls
• Set up tooling, workholding, and offsets
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job travelers
• Machine components to very tight tolerances
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
• Work with exotic materials
• Select and work with appropriate carbide tooling

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience setting up and operating CNC Lathes
• Strong Fanuc control experience
• Strong knowledge of CNC lathe tooling, offsets, and setup
• Experience machining tight-tolerance precision components
• Exotic metal machining experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Inconel or similar difficult-to-machine materials is a plus
• Experience with Doosan or Mori Seiki CNC lathes is preferred

• CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Mazak, Haas, Okuma, Doosan, Dmg Mori Seiki, Takisawa)
• CAM Software (Mastercam, GibbsCAM)
• CNC Lathe (5+ axis) (Mazak, Okuma, Doosan, Dmg Mori Seiki, Samsung)
