Siemens Mobility’s Rolling Stock team in Lexington, North Carolina, manufactures passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles for customers across North America. We pair rail expertise with the power of digitalization to drive safety, punctuality, reliability, and sustainability.

What you’ll do

  • Use production drawings, parts lists, sketches, and verbal instructions to perform manual or mechanized welding and standard assembly tasks.
  • Assemble routine welded units—subassemblies and mounted parts—with repeatable precision.
  • Carry out visual checks and follow defined quality controls to ensure top-tier workmanship.

When you’ll work

Monday–Thursday, 4:00 p.m. – 2:30 a.m.

What you’ll bring

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Hands-on welding test required for all candidates.
  • Preferred knowledge of torch and plasma cutting equipment.
  • Solid general mechanical background.
  • Ability to read/understand manufacturing drawings and confirm dimensions.
  • Basic communication skills in English (written and verbal).

Physical requirements

  • Frequent walking; reaching; stooping; kneeling; crouching; or crawling.
  • Frequent climbing of stairs, steps, and ladders.
  • Frequent work on elevated platforms.
  • Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Visual acuity: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

Pay and benefits info

Lexington, NC hourly rate: $20.00 – $22.51, depending on budget and your experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
