Entry‑Level Plant Reliability Technician (Electrical/PLC)

Is this you?

  • Do you take pride in keeping machines humming through smart preventive maintenance?
  • Can you assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, apparatus, and fixtures with hand, power, and precision tools?
  • Are you at your best diagnosing problems with meters and scopes—then fixing them fast?
  • Comfortable connecting conductors to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components—safely and to code?
  • Ready to calculate layouts, draw plans, and align equipment so it runs at peak efficiency?
  • Confident performing rigging tasks and other safety-related functions on the plant floor?
  • Able to fabricate needed parts from cold rolled steel, stainless, plate, and structural steel when the job demands it?
  • Knowledgeable in VFD programming and able to troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems?
  • Experienced with hydraulics, pneumatics, and advanced machinery like CNC equipment, material handling systems, press brakes, lifting devices, and saws?

What you’ll tackle

  • Make safety your first, second, and third priority—every shift.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Install and maintain electrical/electronic systems and fixtures per country, state, and federal requirements.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, components, and apparatus using appropriate test equipment and hand tools.
  • Wire up panels and devices, including breakers and transformers.
  • Lay out work, balance loads, and align equipment to specifications.
  • Handle rigging and a range of miscellaneous maintenance and electrical tasks.
  • Support company safety and quality programs by following established procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we expect

  • At least 2 years in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Mechanical aptitude; self-starter who follows direction well.
  • Laser alignment and vibration monitoring knowledge (required).
  • Experience with predictive/preventive maintenance and pipefitting.
  • Competent with oxyacetylene torch work and welding; welding certification required.
  • Skilled with hand and power shop tools; able to work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and high lift.
  • Competent programming VFDs and troubleshooting PLCs.
  • Proficient testing electrical systems and circuit continuity using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure safe, compatible operation.
  • Background with mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics; welding certification required.
  • Comfort with advanced processing equipment, CNC, material handling systems, press brakes, lifting devices, and sawing equipment.
