About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Technician to install, test, repair, inspect, and maintain industrial instrumentation, metering, recording instruments, controlling devices, data logging and display equipment, communications, and telemetry systems. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with field service responsibilities in diverse industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of industrial instrumentation and control systems

  • Provide maintenance support to ensure uninterrupted operation of essential equipment

  • Respond to emergencies and job assignments on a 24‑hour basis

  • Collaborate with electricians and process control operators to diagnose instrumentation and control processes

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections, calibrations, and adjustments

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, loop drawings, ladder logic, and mechanical specifications

  • Modify or construct industrial control panels and integrate them with support systems

  • Troubleshoot telemetry, SCADA hardware, and PLC hardware

  • Calibrate and test control valves, RTDs, thermocouples, and instrumentation loops

  • Document work thoroughly and maintain compliance with safety policies

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Vocational School Diploma plus formal training in instrumentation

  • 6+ years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician in industrial, oil & gas, power, water, wastewater, or petrochemical facilities

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, telemetry, SCADA, and PLC systems

  • Experience with liquid and gas flow, pressure, and temperature metering instrumentation

  • Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic and electronic instrumentation loops

  • Familiarity with Hart communicators, loop calibrators, simulators, and process calibrators

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions in the instrumentation industry

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical activities including climbing ladders, lifting heavy objects, balancing, stooping, and handling equipment

  • Must qualify for and perform confined space entry with proper PPE (including SCBA)

  • Good general health, free from disabling conditions that impair performance or safety

Working Conditions

  • Work in industrial environments such as power, water, wastewater, and petrochemical facilities

  • Exposure to typical industrial conditions including dust, noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures
