Capital Projects Mechanical Engineer — Automation Integration
Location: Columbus, OH (South Columbus)
Pay: $85,000 – $120,000 base + 10% bonus

Drive end-to-end mechanical project delivery—pairing solid design with seamless controls integration to elevate plant safety, uptime, and performance.
Core focus areas
- Mechanical + Controls Leadership: Own mechanical design and the integration of equipment with automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
- System Architecture: Select equipment, produce layouts, and align interfaces for reliable system performance.
- Project Controls: Define scope, obtain competitive bids, award work, and direct contractors.
- Execution Excellence: Build and manage schedules, budgets, and spend tracking; report progress and risks.
- Turnarounds & Start-ups: Coordinate plant outages and support commissioning and ramp-up.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present plans and updates clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Sustainment: Create training materials and operating procedures for new systems.
Collaboration network
Partner closely with Contractors, Operations, Maintenance, Vendors, Purchasing, and EHS to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective outcomes.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field.
- 5+ years of capital project engineering experience; chemical or manufacturing background preferred.
- Proven integration of mechanical systems with automation/controls.
- Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
