Help craft the rigid plastic containers people rely on every day. As a Thermoplastics Process Lead Technician, you’ll own the performance of extrusion and blow‑molding systems in a climate‑controlled, safety‑first environment—keeping lines efficient, quality tight, and teams growing.
How you’ll make an impact
- Set up, operate, and optimize extrusion & blow‑molding equipment
- Dial in process variables—heat, water‑cooling temperatures, hydraulic pressure—for repeatable results
- Quickly troubleshoot faults and complete routine preventative maintenance
- Verify compliance with Plastipak customer specifications via weight and dimensional checks
- Champion continuous improvement to elevate safety, reliability, quality, and reduce scrap
- Invest in your development through formal coursework and side‑by‑side training with advancement opportunities
What success looks like
- Stable processes with minimal downtime and clear corrective actions when issues arise
- Quality data that consistently meets bottle weight and dimension targets
- A team engaged in Kaizen, better communication, and lower scrap each month
Qualifications
- Available for 2nd shift (3:00 pm–11:00 pm) or 3rd shift (11:00 pm–7:00 am)
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Preferred background with injection or blow‑molding equipment
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electro‑mechanical systems
- Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
Compensation & recognition
- $55,000–$60,000, commensurate with skills, experience, qualifications, and education
- Annual bonus eligibility based on individual and company performance
