Precision CNC Programmer-Machinist (Mills & Lathes)

Shape precision components on 2nd or 3rd shift in Milwaukee

Join an established precision engineering company near Timmerman Airport and take ownership of full-cycle machining—programming, setup, and operation—across mills and lathes.

Milwaukee, WI (near Timmerman Airport)

Your day-to-day

On your shift, you’ll review prints and routings, plan tooling and fixturing, write or edit G & M code, and run both manual and CNC equipment to hold tight tolerances and fine finishes.

  • Build parts using both manual machines and CNC machining centers
  • Create accurate CNC programs and verify code prior to first run
  • Set up, prove out, and operate mills and lathes to exacting tolerances
  • Design/arrange fixturing; mount and secure workpieces
  • Set stops and calibrate fixtures to appropriate reference points
  • Load programs/cards via the console; correlate machine position with controls
  • Manually step through operations to validate tooling, clearances, speeds, and feeds
  • Recommend tooling and process sequences for complex or first-time parts

Shifts

  • 2nd shift: 2:30 pm – 10:30 pm
  • 3rd shift: 10:30 pm – 6:30 am

  • $30–$38 per hour, DOE

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years of machinist experience
  • Accredited apprenticeship or equivalent training
  • Strong math aptitude
  • Hands-on CNC programming knowledge (G & M code required)
  • Ability to read/interpret prints, specifications, and routings

Tools and platforms you’ll use

  • CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC)
  • CNC Lathe (2–4 axis) and Turning Lathe
  • Horizontal Machining Center (5+ axis)
  • Vertical Lathe
