Lean Warehouse Operations Supervisor

Lead the Floor. Elevate the Flow.

At 3:00 pm, the warehouse comes alive. You rally the team, confirm the day’s KPIs, walk the floor to verify 5S, and clear the dock for on-time shipments. Throughout the evening, you adjust labor to hit the schedule, verify inventory accuracy before staging, and tighten processes so tomorrow runs even better. That’s a typical start to your evening as our Lean Warehouse Operations Supervisor.

What You’ll Own

• End-to-end leadership of warehouse operations: safety, housekeeping, 5S/Lean, on-time customer delivery, production efficiency and effectiveness, cost control, inventory accuracy, shipping and receiving, employee development, and compliance.
• Team leadership: hire, coach, and conduct performance reviews with the Operations Manager and HR; set quantitative objectives aligned to Operations, UPM, and ONI strategic goals; create individual development and training plans; address performance/behavior issues constructively.
• HS&E and regulatory compliance: full accountability for OSHA and EPA compliance in warehouse operations.
• Continuous Improvement: build and sustain a CI culture in partnership with the Operations Manager; implement and enforce 5S/Lean to maximize throughput and efficiency.
• Production, metrics, and execution: ensure weekly production/shipment schedules are met; actively track daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual KPIs; close performance gaps with targeted actions.
• Cost stewardship: drive and document cost control and savings/avoidance initiatives that deliver year-over-year reductions in operating expenses.
• Inventory integrity: safeguard accuracy and process discipline across all inventory movements.
• Quality and ethics: uphold ISO requirements; model the UPM and ONI Code of Conduct and Ethics policy.

• Leadership: direct/indirect reports vary by location; full supervisory responsibility in alignment with company policies and applicable laws.
• Shift: Second Shift: M-Th 3pm - 1:30am

Experience & Education

• Associate Degree in a related field or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
• Lean/Six Sigma Greenbelt Certified Required (or a defined path to certification).
• Minimum 5 years of effective leadership experience.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing/distribution/warehouse environments.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct/Indirect reports depends on location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving issues.

Additional Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
