Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Planner / MRO Inventory Coordinator to support maintenance operations and inventory management within a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance work while also ensuring critical spare parts and inventory are properly managed and available.
This is a highly cross-functional role working closely with maintenance technicians, production, and purchasing to improve uptime, reduce downtime, and optimize inventory processes.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Create, prioritize, and manage work orders within a CMMS/ERP system
- Coordinate labor, materials, and downtime windows with production teams
- Track maintenance KPIs (PM completion, downtime, backlog, etc.)
- Continuously improve maintenance planning processes and workflows
Parts Room & Inventory Management
- Manage MRO inventory, including spare parts, consumables, and critical components
- Maintain accurate inventory levels, including min/max settings and reorder points
- Ensure availability of parts to support maintenance and reduce equipment downtime
- Organize and maintain parts room / storeroom for efficient access and control
- Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy
- Identify and manage critical spare parts for key equipment
CMMS / ERP System Utilization
- Utilize systems such as SAP, IBM Maximo, or Fiix to:- Manage work orders and maintenance schedules
- Track inventory, parts usage, and purchasing needs
- Maintain accurate equipment and asset records
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with purchasing to source and order maintenance parts
- Work with vendors to manage lead times, pricing, and availability
- Track and expedite critical parts to avoid downtime
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or MRO inventory management
- Experience using a CMMS, ERP, or SAP system
- Strong understanding of industrial maintenance parts (motors, bearings, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical components)
- Experience with inventory control methods (cycle counting, min/max, FIFO)
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing environments (automotive, food & beverage, metals, etc.)
- Prior experience in a hybrid planner + storeroom role
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Experience with KPI tracking and maintenance metrics
