Why this role matters

  • Engineer improvements with internal and external customers to increase reliability and throughput.
  • Target replacement candidates, prepare capital recommendations, and quantify ROI.
  • Embed precision reliability practices using deep systems knowledge and proven methods.
  • Apply precision tools and techniques that raise maintenance quality.
  • Develop ESMPs through reliability-centered maintenance alongside peers.
  • Drive predictive, preventive, and precision maintenance strategies with the maintenance team to control risk before failure and optimize execution.
  • Lead and contribute to FMEA efforts to prioritize action.
  • Use WEM and implement enhancements identified in reliability strategy sessions.
  • Execute ATS Root Cause, Bad Actor, and Fault Tree analyses to remove chronic loss.
  • Align ATS/Customer KPIs through clear communication with leadership.

Must-have qualifications (Essential KSAs)

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience in heavy industrial maintenance, reliability, or operations.
  • At least 1 year in a reliability function.
  • Hands-on skill with reliability toolsets.
  • Experience performing RCA.
  • Background with RCM and FMEA.
  • Master-level capability with predictive technologies.
  • Vibration I Certification.
  • Intermediate ability in machine health monitoring.
  • Experience with Work Execution Management.
  • Technical literacy in electrical or mechanical components, tools, and design.
  • Ability to partner on FMEA, cause-and-effect diagrams, root cause failure analysis, life-cycle costing, and risk analysis.
  • Curiosity and competence in researching/applying new equipment technologies and trends.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Fluency with computers, maintenance systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Intermediate verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Clear reporting and technical writing.
  • Relationship-building aptitude.

Nice-to-have experience (Desirable KSAs)

  • Ambition to step into leadership.
  • Exposure to trend analysis, vibration analysis, motor current analysis, oil analysis, lubrication and hydraulic testing, laser alignment, NDT, infrared thermography, ultrasound, acoustic reliability, Weibull analysis, and Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, NETA, EPA, and OSHA.
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams.
  • Infrared I, Ultrasound I, and Maintenance Lubrication Analyst I Certifications.
  • CMRP/ARP/CRP/CRL certifications.
  • Green Belt certification.
  • STS certification.

What to expect physically (Work environment)

  • Frequent standing, walking, fine hand work, reaching, climbing/balancing; at times stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; regular speaking and hearing.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Ability to occasionally lift/move items over 50 lbs.
  • Regular need for close and color vision.
  • Possible intermittent exposure to outdoor weather and risk of electrical shock.
  • Loud factory environment; potential exposure to hazardous materials and greasy/slippery floors.
