Is this you?

  • Hands-on problem solver with 2+ years in a mechanical setting?
  • Comfortable interpreting technical drawings and documenting precise work?
  • Familiar with torque tools, measurement equipment, and rigorous tool control?
  • Experienced around cranes/forklifts—or keen to apply that knowledge in rail?
  • Strong communicator who can also craft detailed technical reports?

Your schedule and team

  • Location: Lexington, NC—locomotive truck overhaul shop.
  • Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
  • Reporting: CS Production Manager.
  • Environment: Collaborative, small-team setting focused on quality and safety.

What you will do

  • Execute full overhaul activities for Siemens locomotive trucks to meet the production plan.
  • Remove, inspect, and reinstall components per Siemens work instructions.
  • Operate a state-of-the-art wheel lathe to reprofile train wheelsets when required.
  • Pre-clean parts with a pressure washer prior to inspection.
  • Safely rig and move trucks using overhead cranes and approved lifting devices.
  • Support the warehouse by collecting materials and spares as needed.
  • Maintain shop organization and complete additional duties assigned by Management, Supervisors, and Lead Technicians.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years’ mechanical experience.
  • Accuracy in documenting work and operations.
  • Knowledge of tool control, torque wrenches, measuring tools, and PPE.
  • Ability to read technical drawings/publications and create detailed technical reports.
  • Proficient English communication (verbal and written).
  • Preferred: railroad/overhaul experience; crane and/or forklift experience.

  • Vision: close and distance vision, color differentiation, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Base salary range (Lexington, NC): $46,002–$62,016. Actual offer may be lower or higher based on budget and your experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
