Industrial Maintenance & Automation Technician

Industrial Maintenance & Automation Technician

Location: Latrobe, PA

Employment Type: Direct Hire | Work Model: Onsite | Hours: 40 hours/week

Compensation: $47,800 – $56,000

A day in this role

Your morning starts on the plant floor, reviewing the overnight log and prioritizing what will keep production humming. A robot cell flags an error—you trace it to a PLC I/O fault, interpret the schematics, and restore the line with minimal downtime. Next, you complete scheduled preventive maintenance on molding equipment, documenting work performed and making a quick mold setup adjustment before first shift ramps up. By midday, you’re collaborating with production and quality to fine‑tune a support system, then moving on to an NFPA 70–compliant check on a high‑voltage panel. You finish by organizing the parts crib, noting restock needs for the Maintenance Manager, and leaving your shop swept, labeled, and audit‑ready.

What you’ll take ownership of

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment and facilities to keep operations on schedule.
  • Partner with production to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe throughput across all shifts.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly maintenance shop and document all maintenance activities.
  • Monitor and service production, support, and auxiliary systems; perform mold setups and record work performed.
  • Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings; diagnose PLC systems.
  • Work safely on live circuits and low/high voltage per OSHA and NFPA 70 requirements.
  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly PMs on manufacturing equipment and building systems.
  • Audit machines, robots, and auxiliary devices for safe, efficient operation and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in installing and commissioning new/special equipment, automation, and robotics.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and alert the Maintenance Manager when levels require replenishment.
  • Verify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic safeguards meet OSHA and company standards.

What you bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Hands‑on maintenance/mechanical background in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical faults.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and safe electrical work practices.
  • Strong organization for parts management and work documentation.
  • Fluency in reading technical prints and specifications.
