Lead Weld Technician, Coil Integrity

Do you thrive on diagnosing tough leaks, guiding a crew, and sending flawless coils downline? As BAC’s Lead Weld Technician in the test tank area, you’ll be the go-to expert—hands-on in an hourly shop role—who protects quality, grows people, and lives our values of Earning Trust, Embracing Responsibility, Showing Courage, and Driving Innovation. Our north star is simple: doing the right thing in the right way.

  • Can you set the tone for safety every shift? You’ll own personal and team safety, enforce rules, and ensure PPE is always in use.
  • Can you plan and execute? You’ll review schedules, interpret work tickets, and route finished coils to the next operation.
  • Can you make leaks disappear? Pressure-test coils and perform precise repairs—tube-to-tube, tube, and header—then confirm results.
  • Are you data-driven? Post leak-rate metrics, manage the coil quality traveler, and keep the Quality metric report accurate in real time.
  • Do you teach what you know? Track coil proficiency (with comments and actions), mentor junior mechanics, and train on lessons learned.
  • Are you a systems thinker? Complete ISO documentation daily, sustain 5S, and collaborate with Team Leads, Station Lead, Inspectors, and Supply Chain.
  • Do you improve what you touch? Participate in CI projects, drive LEAN behaviors, report near misses, and help hit departmental safety metrics.
  • Do you think sustainably? Reduce waste, maximize recycling, and cut energy/water use while supporting innovation that becomes business value.
