Your mission
Advance rail safety and reliability by verifying the integrity of carshell welds and machined components at Siemens Mobility’s Lexington, NC Rolling Stock facility.
Where you’ll work and when
- Location: Lexington, North Carolina
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
What you’ll do
- Inspect welded and machined parts/assemblies in the Carshell and BG manufacturing areas using CWI visual methods, dimensional checks, and mechanical tests.
- Apply one or more NDT techniques to confirm acceptance to applicable standards.
- Verify that work aligns with the latest configuration revision, drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Perform first article inspections (as needed) and issue concise reports and diagnostics.
- Maintain accurate records in MRP systems, noncompliance tracking tools, and the configuration management system.
What you bring
- Ability and commitment to obtain/maintain AWS CWI Associate or VT Level II, plus certification in one or more NDT methods.
- Comfort retrieving data from databases and entering results into electronic inspection platforms.
- Willingness to travel to Sacramento, CA for training (initially at least two weeks, with additional trips as required).
Physical requirements
- Frequent standing/walking; regular reaching, climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching/crawling; occasional sitting.
- Lift/move: regularly up to 10 lbs; occasionally 40+ lbs.
- Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
