Industrial Cleaning & Restoration Equipment Service Mechanic

Compensation

Pay Range: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour + Monthly Bonus

What your day looks like

You roll into a clean, organized shop, review the service queue, and open a new service order for incoming equipment. You’ll diagnose systems using testing tools and manufacturer repair manuals, pinpoint issues quickly, and complete repairs with accuracy and care. Throughout the day you’ll coordinate workload with fellow technicians, communicate timelines to customers, and document progress in our scheduling software.

Equipment you’ll work on

  • 2-, 3-, and 4-cylinder gas engines and related small-engine systems
  • Truck-mounted carpet cleaning units and portable carpet extractors
  • Hard-surface floor cleaning machines
  • Duct cleaning and deodorizing equipment
  • Dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, air movers
  • HEPA vacuums and associated components

How you’ll make an impact

  • Diagnose and repair all systems and components for commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface-prep equipment with speed and precision.
  • Use testing equipment, troubleshooting guides, and OEM manuals to verify root causes and validate repairs.
  • Evaluate equipment condition and clearly communicate additional service needs to the team and the customer.
  • Meet or exceed department quality and productivity targets.
  • Assist fellow technicians, coordinate shop workload, and collaborate with store staff to keep work moving.
  • Maintain tools and shop equipment properly; keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Create bids and present written estimates to customers. Schedule repair appointments and update details in scheduling software.
  • Order parts, track arrivals, and coordinate with vendors and other store employees.
  • Communicate professionally with customers in person, by phone, and via email.

What you bring

  • 2+ years’ experience preferred in one or more: commercial cleaning/restoration equipment, small-engine repair and maintenance, pressure-washer repair and maintenance, or automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Valid driver license and a clean driving record (no DUIs or careless/reckless driving on MVR within the last 3 years).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Personal basic mechanics tool set.
  • Strong technical aptitude, mechanical know-how, and attention to detail.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with efficient, accurate diagnostics.
  • Safety-first mindset: use of safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE at all times.
  • Ability to stay focused and deliver quality work on schedule.
  • Capable of lifting 50+ lbs. regularly.
  • Professional appearance; clear written and verbal communication; basic computer proficiency.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
