Picture this: One week you’re on the road, laying precise flux-cored welds on a client site; the next you’re back in our Louisville shop, perfecting builds with your team. As a Field-Deployment FCAW Welding Specialist, you’ll split your time with approximately 30% travel each year, with all travel costs covered, road pay provided, and a per diem included. When you’re not traveling, you’ll be in the shop keeping projects moving forward.
Mechanical aptitude matters here—you’ll handle setups, make adjustments, and ensure everything runs safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Do
- Execute flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) on a variety of materials to meet project specifications.
- Set up and operate welding equipment while adhering to strict safety standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan and complete accurate welds.
- Inspect weld quality, troubleshoot issues, and fine-tune parameters as needed.
- Collaborate closely with teammates to meet timelines and deliver exceptional results.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in alignment with safety and environmental rules.
- Engage in ongoing training to expand techniques and elevate your craft.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational welding training is a plus.
- Hands-on experience as a flux welder or similar role.
- Deep familiarity with welding processes, equipment, and safe work practices.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints accurately.
- Sharp attention to detail and pride in consistent, high-quality work.
- Problem-solver who thrives working both independently and with a team.
- Willingness to travel as projects require (about 30% annually).
