Raw Materials Procurement Analyst — Glass & Vinyl

Keep the lines running. Shape the plan.

Picture this: an updated EDI 830 forecast lands with a sharp demand spike. You validate Item Master settings, check BOM accuracy, confirm CUM alignment, and tune MRP so recommendations reflect reality. You refresh supplier schedules, alert a vendor on a critical pull-in, schedule returnable packaging, and send revised short- and long-term forecasts. Meanwhile, you rebaseline safety stock, sequence inventory using FIFO, and secure proper storage for a temperature-sensitive lot—preventing obsolescence and protecting the build.

If that sounds like your kind of impact, you’ll thrive here.

Your impact

  • Own QAD ERP data stewardship: Item Master integrity, Supplier Schedules, EDI 830 releases, and CUM reconciliation.
  • Identify and resolve issues stemming from Customer EDI, part setup, or BOM that degrade MRP signals.
  • Convert plans into action: release POs to meet manufacturing schedules and customer demand.
  • Measure supplier performance (OTD) and manage expedite freight; escalate risks to SCM Commodity Managers when needed.
  • Close the loop with Finance by resolving invoice/receipt discrepancies.
  • Coordinate shipments of returnable packaging to suppliers.
  • Forecast long-lead raw glass and vinyl usage, including campaign-driven production scenarios.
  • Drive inventory accuracy via cycle counts and monthly Physical Inventory participation.
  • Design, implement, and sustain FIFO across purchased components.
  • Right-size inventory with demand changes while protecting safety stock and reducing EOP obsolescence.
  • Ensure compliant storage for hazardous and temperature-sensitive materials; monitor shelf life to minimize write-offs.
  • Support launches by coordinating prototype orders for new parts ahead of SOP.
