Industrial Controls Wiring Technician

Industrial Controls Wiring Technician

Step onto the Dayton Operations floor with a team that’s growing and winning. As our Industrial Controls Wiring Technician, you’ll help bring BAC products to life through precise wiring, occasional Trillium model assembly, and end‑of‑line functional testing and troubleshooting—so every unit exceeds customer expectations.

Your day, at a glance

  • Start with the plan: decode electrical/ electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints to map out your build.
  • Build it right: perform general wiring on 3‑phase systems—motors, motor controls, transformers, PLC I/O—plus 1‑phase 120Vac and 24Vdc control circuits with switches, sensors, and transmitters.
  • Prove performance: execute end‑of‑line functional testing, including use of multimeters and related test equipment; perform Hi‑Pot (dielectric) tests when needed.
  • Problem-solve fast: troubleshoot logic controls and evaporative cooling tower components to keep production moving.
  • Flex where needed: rotate across stations and lines, and assist with occasional Trillium model assembly.

How you’ll contribute

  • Apply a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) to produce safe, compliant assemblies.
  • Demonstrate a quality mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and strong safety habits—including working at OSHA general industry heights using proper fall protection.
  • Leverage intermediate computer skills to handle departmental paperwork and reports accurately.
  • Live BAC’s values: Earning Trust, Embracing Responsibility, Showing Courage, and Driving Innovation—always doing the right thing, the right way.

What you bring

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in motors and controls maintenance/troubleshooting.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on wiring experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications (machine, mechanical, and electrical).
  • Experience with PLCs; programming exposure is a plus.
  • Hi‑Pot (dielectric) testing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeters).
  • Comfort working above ground level with approved fall‑protection systems.
