Instrumentation & Controls Electrical Engineer (Nuclear)

If you’re energized by tough problems and motivated by purpose, this role is for you. Help Westinghouse advance clean energy as an Instrumentation & Controls-focused Electrical Engineer based in Cranberry Township, PA (hybrid). You’ll report to the Manager, Large Project Electrical Systems & Equipment and contribute to large nuclear projects that demand precision and collaboration.

Your challenge

  • Design and analyze electrical systems for nuclear products/projects—spanning I&C designs, electrical system design, and system wiring.
  • Produce engineering design documents using established standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria—covering technical evaluations, obsolete parts equivalencies, calculations, and specifications that support operating plants.
  • Leverage ETAP for power studies, Mathcad for rigorous calculations, and Maximo (or similar) to organize and track work.
  • Collaborate with peer engineering groups to gather inputs and align designs.
  • Engage with client and site teams to address issues essential to project success.
  • Plan and schedule your tasks to meet assignment requirements and milestones.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience applying your education to real-world engineering problems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of power plant systems and equipment.
  • Experience delivering on power projects.
  • Proven ability to develop procurement specifications for various electrical commodities and to review vendor proposals.

Hybrid work arrangement based in Cranberry Township, PA. You’ll integrate on-site collaboration with focused remote work to keep complex deliverables moving.

Pay & transparency

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $69,200 to $86,500 per year. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
