Shape the Data Backbone of Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing
Employer: PDS Tech Commercial
Role: Senior SQL Server Data Platform Engineer (Manufacturing Systems)
Pay: $72/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Location: Richardson, TX (Onsite with limited remote flexibility)
A day in the life
You’ll start with a quick scan of overnight jobs and production KPIs, triage a performance alert impacting a critical MES workflow, and then jump into refining a star schema that feeds Power BI dashboards for operations leadership. By afternoon, you’re collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, IT, and OT teams to tune a high-throughput SQL Server instance, deploying an SSRS report for yield analysis, and validating backup and disaster recovery procedures for a new production line. Before you wrap, you document changes, push improvements through SDLC gates, and check the 24/7 monitoring board for a smooth handoff.
What you’ll own
- Administration and tuning of Microsoft SQL Server databases powering MES, SCADA, APC, and enterprise applications
- Design, build, and upkeep of data marts, warehouses, and governed reporting layers
- Advanced SQL development: complex queries, stored procedures, and performance-optimized data pipelines
- Reporting and analytics delivery using SSRS and Power BI
- Performance troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for mission-critical production systems
- Cross-database support for Oracle and DB2 when needed
- Security hardening, access management, and documentation for compliance and audit readiness
- Participation in 24/7 monitoring, cybersecurity alignment, backups, recovery, and DR exercises

- 1+ year with ServiceNow (or similar ITSM platform)
- Comfort across the SDLC and strong documentation/communication skills
Preferred profile
- Background with Oracle, DB2, SSRS, and Power BI
- Manufacturing experience: MES, SCADA, or semiconductor fabs
