- Pay Range: $20 – $26 /hr
A day in the life
You start your shift by reviewing the day’s work orders and blueprints. You set up materials, load bar stock or workpieces, and run CNC turning centers to produce parts to spec. Throughout the run, you check dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and gauges, recording results and keeping quality on track. If a machine drifts or a tool wears, you flag the issue to setup personnel or your supervisor, keeping production moving safely and smoothly. Before you wrap up, you complete documentation and 5S your work area so the next job starts clean and organized.
What you’ll do
- Run CNC lathes to make precision parts that meet blueprint requirements
- Load/unload raw materials and finished components efficiently
- Perform in-process inspections with calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Track machine performance; escalate concerns to setup techs or supervisors
- Maintain product quality and adhere to all safety procedures
- Fill out production and inspection records accurately
- Keep your station neat, orderly, and ready for the next job
What you’ll bring
- 1–3 years operating CNC lathes
- Blueprint reading ability (preferred)
- Comfort with precision measurement tools
- Working knowledge of tolerances and basic shop math
- Reliability, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn
- Background in aerospace or precision manufacturing is a plus
