At U. S. Steel, we believe different perspectives power better solutions. We foster an inclusive culture and celebrate the diversity of our teams as we make the steel that moves the world.
Picture your first weeks on the job: you clock into a rotating 8-hour shift, gear up with PPE, and step onto a production floor alive with motion. You move between areas of the mill, supporting production and service units. One hour you’re using hand tools and torches to prep materials; the next you’re helping maintain equipment or positioning product with mobile gear—all in a heavy industrial setting where safety and precision come first.
This is an entry-level Utility role—the foundation of a long-term career in steelmaking. You’ll learn the processes, support multiple operating units, and after initial training, advance to operating material-handling equipment such as overhead and mobile cranes, tractors, trucks, dozers, loaders, boom trucks, and feeders.
A single application will be considered for openings across our three Mon Valley facilities: Clairton Works, Irvin Works, and Edgar Thomson Works.
