Quality Control Electronics Technician

Summary of the Position

The Quality Control Electronics Technician ensures that electronic components and systems meet rigorous quality standards throughout the manufacturing and testing process. This role combines technical expertise with quality assurance practices to maintain product reliability and compliance.

** Essential Functions**

  1. Inspect and test electronic components, assemblies, and systems using specialized equipment.

2. Identify defects and non-conformities, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.

3. Perform root cause analysis and assist in implementing quality improvements.

4. Maintain calibration and functionality of testing instruments.

5. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues.

6. Review technical drawings and specifications to ensure compliance.

7. Record and analyze test data, generate reports, and maintain quality documentation.

8. Support internal audits and regulatory compliance efforts.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, electrical engineering, or related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in electronics testing or quality assurance.

  • Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and automated test equipment.

  • Strong understanding of IPC standards and ISO 9001 quality systems.

  • Attention to detail and analytical thinking.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel

This job operates in a warehouse/manufacturing setting where hand tools and parts are used to assemble products, such as pliers, screwdrivers, box cutters, power tools, screws, automatic tape dispensers.

This position must be able to lift 25 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of related experience in Quality Control, or other relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with surface mount technology (SMT) and printed circuit board (PCB) inspection.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and failure mode analysis.

This is a full-time position, on-site at the manufacturing facility. The weekly hours worked are 40 hours per week. There may be a need for overtime work.
