Export & Dangerous Goods Shipping Program Manager

Help Build the Engine That Moves Powerus

Powerus is scaling advanced unmanned systems from our Rock Hill, SC facility. As we expand production in our ~300,000 sq. ft. site, we need a Program Manager to architect and run outbound logistics—domestic and international—while ensuring impeccable dangerous goods compliance.

Your Mission

  • Design, implement, and operate a robust outbound shipping program covering air, ocean, and ground.
  • Lead all dangerous goods activity—especially lithium batteries—across classification, packaging, labeling, documentation, and carrier selection.
  • Publish and maintain SOPs, DG manuals, documentation standards, and required training.
  • Own documentation quality: commercial invoices, packing lists, BLs, AWBs, DG declarations, and export paperwork.
  • Coordinate customs clearance and rapidly resolve holds and paperwork issues.
  • Develop and manage partnerships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, couriers, and specialist providers.
  • Stand up scalable processes, reporting, and shipment tracking to support rising output.
  • Safeguard high-value, sensitive, oversized, and regulated goods through tailored packaging and transit plans.
  • Deliver on urgent and time-definite shipments without compromising safety or compliance.
  • Continuously improve cost, lead times, and carrier performance through data-driven decisions.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Hands-on outbound logistics experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics, industrial, or similar complex operations.
  • Current dangerous goods certification with proven DG shipping experience—required.
  • Deep knowledge of IATA/ICAO air transport requirements and relevant DOT hazmat regulations.
  • Background shipping lithium-ion and lithium-metal batteries (strongly preferred).
  • International freight and customs experience, including export compliance and documentation.
  • Direct engagement with forwarders, brokers, airlines, ocean and trucking carriers, and niche logistics vendors.
  • Expertise in packaging, labeling, classification, and compliance documentation.
  • Calm under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced factory setting; unshakeable attention to detail.
  • Ownership mindset from dock to delivery, with clear communication and reporting.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Rock Hill, SC.
