A day in the life

You arrive for 2nd shift and take the handoff from the day crew. A work order flags a hydraulic leak on a packaging line. You trace the issue, swap a worn hose, test pressures, and fine-tune the controls to get throughput back on target. Between calls, you complete preventive maintenance on a facility air compressor and document findings so the next scheduled service is seamless. Throughout the night, you keep equipment safe, reliable, and production-ready using a mix of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic know‑how.

Compensation & benefits

  • Pay Rate: $32.00 – 36.00/hour, depending on experience
  • Full benefit package including vacation, medical, 401k

Schedule

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 2:30 PM - 1:00 AM (a $1.00 shift differential applies)

What you’ll do

  • Install and maintain production machines and facility equipment to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Respond to emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and perform scheduled maintenance during service windows.
  • Apply mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills to repair production machinery.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to carry out required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose faults, replace or repair parts, test, and make precise adjustments.
  • Execute routine preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Use a range of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Identify faulty operations or defective materials and promptly report unusual situations to supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent combination of education and production maintenance experience.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience with strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills; some Electrical and PLC experience.
