Industrial Maintenance Apprentice — Mechanical/Electrical Track

Step Into the Shop Floor

Picture your first weeks in our fast-paced automotive manufacturing plant. You’re paired with a veteran technician, learning how our lines run, how to lock out and tag out equipment before any hands-on work, and how a clean, organized area (hello, 5S) keeps everyone safe and efficient. We’re hiring two apprentices—one focused on mechanical systems and one focused on electrical systems—both gaining cross-training to become well-rounded problem solvers who keep production moving.

What You’ll Do

  • Shadow and assist maintenance technicians diagnosing and repairing equipment across mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance on production machinery and facility systems to improve reliability.
  • Support troubleshooting of PLC controls, motors, sensors, hydraulics, and pneumatics to reduce downtime.
  • Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan and execute tasks.
  • Help install, modify, and upgrade equipment and subsystems as continuous improvement projects roll out.
  • Document work performed and keep accurate maintenance records using basic computer tools.
  • Follow safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures at all times; uphold 5S standards for order and cleanliness.
  • Partner with production teams to identify issues early, enhance equipment performance, and keep throughput on target.

How You’ll Grow

  • Participate in structured on-the-job training spanning both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Develop practical troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills under expert guidance.
  • Gain exposure to automated manufacturing systems and robotics (if applicable) to broaden your toolkit.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Foundation in mechanical concepts and electrical basics, plus a strong appetite to learn.
  • Problem-solver who’s comfortable asking questions and digging into technical details.
  • Ability to read technical drawings is a plus (not required).
  • Basic computer proficiency for maintenance systems and documentation.

Physical Realities

  • Capable of standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Comfortable working around machinery in a manufacturing setting.
  • Able to work in varying temperatures and industrial conditions.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Day shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Automotive manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and typical industrial hazards.
