Location: IR Industrial US, Inc., 156 Aro Road, Southern Pines, NC 28387 (Onsite)

Hours: 2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m., Monday–Friday; overtime/weekends as needed

Compensation: Starting at $22.03/hour (commensurate with experience)

Your impact (role at a glance)

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and grinders to produce metallic and non-metallic parts to print.
  • Load/unload parts; perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore/plug gauges, and height stands (with supervision as needed).
  • Run manual operations (e.g., drill press), deburr parts, and press bushings/pins using a hand press.
  • Replace dull tooling, adjust cutters, use proper cutting fluids, and apply optimized metal-removal techniques.
  • Meet or exceed setup times and production targets; document issues and write shift-handoff reports.
  • Practice 5S and follow ISO procedures and all company/HR policies; model Ingersoll Rand values.
  • Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement events; collaborate in a team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical coursework preferred.
  • 1+ year machining experience or Technical College equivalent.
  • Ability to read/interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, blueprints, drawings, gauges, memos, and procedures; communicate effectively in small groups.
  • Shop math proficiency: add/subtract/multiply/divide; work with fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages; calculator savvy.
  • Use of basic hand tools; safely lift 35 lbs.
  • Reasoning skills to follow detailed instructions and resolve issues with a few variables in standardized settings.
  • Team-first mindset, flexibility to shift priorities, and a drive for ongoing learning.

Safety and readiness

  • PPE: OSHA-approved safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes required.
  • Pre-assignment training includes hazard communication, fire safety, PPE, and detailed JSA review.

•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, to machining oils/coolants from handling coated tools and containers, and to coolant/oil mists which are below OSHA’s permissible levels of exposure.

•Since it is a manufacturing environment, the noise level is usually loud due to the different machinery being operated (i.e. forklifts, hand tools, machines in other departments) and the testing that occurs. Normal noise exposure in the area ranges from 80-90 d BA, depending upon what area in the plant the employee is working.
