Founding Account Executive

About the Role

A fast-growing, Y Combinator-backed B2B SaaS startup is looking for a Founding Account Executive to join their Munich-based team. The company builds AI-powered automation software for distributors and manufacturers — helping inside sales teams eliminate repetitive back-office tasks, accelerate quote generation, and close more deals. They serve industries including HVAC, building materials, and electrical distribution, and are on a strong growth trajectory toward $10M ARR.

As a founding AE, you'll own the full sales cycle end-to-end, help shape the sales culture, and play a key role in scaling the go-to-market motion from the ground up.

What You'll Do

  • Qualify and close new business across mid-market and enterprise accounts.
  • Partner with the prospecting team to manage pipeline and ensure a smooth customer journey.
  • Guide prospects through the evaluation process, build strong relationships, and develop compelling business cases that demonstrate ROI.
  • Conduct product demos, handle negotiations, and close deals while continuously refining the sales process.
  • Design and implement strategies to win key accounts and expand into new markets.
  • Gather customer feedback and share insights with engineering to drive product innovation.
  • Help build and train a high-performing sales team and establish scalable sales processes.

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 1+ years of closing experience in B2B SaaS or tech sales.
  • Proven track record of exceeding quota in mid-market or enterprise sales.
  • Experience owning the full sales cycle: discovery, demos, negotiations, and close.
  • Native German and fluent English — both are required.
  • Proficiency with CRM and sales automation tools (e.g. Salesforce or equivalent).
  • Ability to build and present business cases demonstrating ROI to executive stakeholders.

Nice to have:

  • Background or experience in construction, supply chain, trades, or industrial distribution.
  • Familiarity with ERP-integrated SaaS selling (e.g. SAP, Oracle ecosystems).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $70,000 – $130,000 USD annually (plus variable/commission expected for an AE role).
  • Visa sponsorship available.
  • Opportunity to be a founding team member with significant scope and ownership.

Location

This role is on-site in Munich, Germany. Candidates should be based in or willing to relocate to Munich.
