Role snapshot
- Team: Pall Aerospace Air value stream
- Location: Onsite, New Port Richey, FL
- Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:15 PM–11:15 PM (routine overtime)
- Focus: Senior-level manual machining of aerospace parts
What you’ll do
- Set up and run manual lathes and mills to tight tolerances
- Machine from bar stock, castings, and forgings; deburr during operations
- Interpret complex drawings and detailed engineering sketches
- Select and use holding devices: chucks, collets, faceplates, vices, sine plates
- Build tools and fixtures as needed
- Indicate machine axes, fixtures, tooling, and components to meet tolerance
- Inspect with hand gauges, micrometers, calipers, height gauge, functional gauges, and optical comparator (aka shadow graph)
- Troubleshoot and diagnose machining process issues
- Complete scorecards, hazard recognitions, routers, and related data
What you’ll bring
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience on manual machining equipment
- Strong shop math; ability to read blueprints, machine drawings, and work instructions
- Knowledge of general dimensioning and tolerancing; effective verbal/written communication
- FAA certification may be required
- Willingness to work overtime
Physical/environmental requirements
- Lift frequently up to 35 lbs; up to 50 lbs with assistance (daily)
- Stand for 8+ hours; frequent twisting and bending
- Pass visual acuity exam
- Comfort working with solvents, oils, and other chemicals
Preferred
- Background in aerospace manual machining
