In this role, your metrology expertise ensures every casting, fabrication, assembly, and machined part conforms exactly to print—because lives and missions depend on it.
Mission
- Validate conformance to specifications and blueprints using CMMs and precision instruments
- Apply shop mathematics to compute angles, radii, and other derived dimensions
- Lead first-article/first-run inspections and produce rigorous, readable reports
- Lay out centerlines and reference points on surface plates to establish accurate datums
- Analyze nonconforming product, determine likely causes, and recommend process or design improvements
When and how you’ll work
- First shift opportunity
- 10-hour days beginning between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m.
What you bring
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of inspection experience preferred, ideally in aerospace/defense manufacturing
- Training in SPC data collection and evaluation preferred
- Hands-on proficiency with standard metrology tools in a production setting
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to drive effective actions
- Eye Examination minimum requirement – Jaeger 1 at 12” with corrective lenses and the Ishihara Color Blindness Test. Exams are required on an annual basis.
