Department: Supply Chain

Employment type: Full-time

About Us

Autonomous systems will reshape society over the next decade, and every one of them depends on

the hardware that makes it move. Talos Devices is the Tier 1 provider of propulsion, actuation, and

power-generation devices for the age of autonomy. We build brushless DC motors, turbines, and

two-stroke engines for multirotor drones, fixed-wing aircraft, and robotic platforms, serving everyone

from hobbyist builders to defense programs.

Our edge is manufacturing and distribution excellence: quality at scale and at low cost, powered by

advanced manufacturing and a sovereign supply chain.

Job Purpose

The Buyer / Planner places and manages purchase orders for production material, MRO supplies

and services for all Talos manufacturing sites, so the right parts arrive on time, at the right cost and

to the right quality. The role turns the production schedule and MRP signals into a purchasing plan,

expedites shortages during the ramp and keeps suppliers performing to their commitments.

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Buyer / Planner works daily with the site Materials

Managers, Production, Quality and the Supplier Quality Engineer. Supply Chain owns supplier

selection and contracts; the site materials teams own receiving, inventory and kitting.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert MRP and the master production schedule into purchase orders for production

material, MRO supplies and services for every site, and place, confirm and maintain them in

the ERP.

• Manage supplier delivery performance: confirm dates, track open orders and expedite

shortages before they reach the line, working with the site Materials Managers.

• Maintain item planning parameters (lead times, order quantities, safety stock and approved

sources) in the ERP and keep them current as the ramp progresses.

• Resolve receiving, price and quantity discrepancies and support three-way match with

Accounts Payable.

• Work with Quality and the Supplier Quality Engineer on supplier nonconformances, returns

and corrective actions.

• Gather quotes, support cost reduction and onboard new suppliers under the Director of Supply

Chain's sourcing strategy.

• Report on-time delivery, open-order status, shortages and purchase price variance weekly.
