Schedule: Night Shift, Monday–Thursday, 6:00 PM – 4:00 AM
You clock in at dusk and guide a high‑speed folder‑gluer line to peak performance. As the assistant operator, you set the pace—prepping tooling for swift changeovers, watching the machine’s rhythm, and keeping production flowing safely and efficiently.
Kickoff: You confirm the production run, complete the required tooling setup for changeovers, and fine‑tune alignment before ramping to established rates. Using an RF scanner, you record material transactions into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and generate accurate labels that follow each item through the process.
Flow & throughput: You continuously monitor machine performance, clear jams quickly, and document any variables that could slow output. Manual or electric pallet jacks move material to the feeder, while completed stacks are taken from the delivery section. You also operate a forklift (5490) to position converting tools and equipment as needed.
Quality at the source: You inspect machine condition—including the die—for wear or defects. As loads are ejected, you check product quality, make targeted adjustments at the die to correct issues from the die‑cutting process, remove nonconforming pieces, and promptly alert the Supervisor and Quality Department if concerns arise.
Uptime & care: You maintain the production schedule to meet cost, quality, and customer service targets. When faults pop up on the die‑cut machine control panel, you troubleshoot, clear jams, and return the line to a production‑ready state. You also perform both preventative and scheduled machine‑specific maintenance and service.
Finish strong: You complete all required documentation covering quality, production, and machine performance. Before heading out, you handle daily housekeeping and lead/perform full machine sanitation as scheduled.
